Hyderabad engineer’s fatal fall from roof for love

HYDERABAD: While attempting to threaten a woman to fall in love with him, a 27-year-old engineer had a fatal fall from the terrace of a five storied apartment in Miyapur on Monday evening.

The victim was G Jagadeesh, a native of Warangal district and resident of Addagutta Society in Kukatpally. Jagadeesh was an engineer at software firm in Madhapur and since past few months he had been in love with a 24-year-old software engineer residing at Janapriya Apartment in Miyapur.

Though Jagadeesh was in love with the woman and kept on continuously stalking her, there was no positive response from her. Desperate to get a positive response from his lady love, on Monday evening, Jagadeesh went to her apartment.

“Jagadeesh came to know that the woman was on the terrace of her five storied apartment. In a desperate attempt to make her say yes to his proposal, Jagadeesh threatened to end his life by jumping from the terrace. He held the edge of parapet and started hanging precariously. The woman and other residents of the apartment called the watchman to pull Jagadeesh up but by the time the watchman reached the terrace, Jagadeesh lost his grip and crashed on the ground. He died on the spot,” Miyapur inspector Harischandra Reddy said.

Police registered a case under section 174 of CrPC and shifted the body for post-mortem.
