Hyderabad: Two persons from the film industry were arrested by the Prohibition and Excise Department on Saturday on charges of possessing narcotics. With this, the total number of persons nabbed so far in the drug racket has gone up to 17.
Twenty grams of Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and seven grams of ‘magic mushroom’ were recovered from the possession of Mohammed Usman alias Faisal and Arnav Mandal. The two were associated with the film industry, officials said, adding that the exact nature of their association with the film industry was being ascertained.
While 10 grams of MDMA was seized from Faisal, another 10 grams of MDMA and seven grams of Magic mushroom were recovered from Mandal.

Meanwhile, actor Tarun appeared before the Excise Department’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) for questioning in connection with the drug trade racket. He is among 12 Tollywood personalities, including actors, filmmakers and producers, against whom the department had last week issued notices, asking them to appear before the SIT.
