HYDERABAD: The third State Formation Day on June 2 will see the inauguration of a speciality restaurant – Flavours of Telangana – near Lumbini Park next to Tank Bund, it was announced on Wednesday. The launch of this restaurant will be part of a gastronomic feast that the tourism department has planned as part of Formation Day celebrations in the city.
A simultaneous three-day Telangana food festival is to be organised at People’s Plaza at Necklace Road, tourism and youth affairs secretary B Venkatesham said.
The tourism department will reintroduce the ‘hop-on hop-off’ bus service for tourists, MD of the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation Christina Z Chongthu said. The service, first launched in 2015, now gets freshly designed air-conditioned 20-seater vehicles that will take tourists over a 70-km drive through the city to all important places.
Tourism minister Azmeera Chandulal said celebrations will include 3D lighting displays at the Kacheguda Railway Station and Shilpa Kala Vedika while all important buildings will be lit with special lighting.
