BHUBANESWAR: An engine of Tata-Barbil passenger train on Monday derailed near Nalda in Keonjhar district due to landslide.
The incident happened in the night when a big boulder came under wheels of the train engine. As the train was crossing the stretch slowly, it escaped from a major accident.
SP Keonjhar twitter handle informed that no injuries or loss is reported. “Coaches are not affected. All passengers are safe,” said the officer’s tweet.
The tweet also informed that cops were deployed near the train. Passengers were shifted to Barbil, said the official sources.
The incident happened under the jurisdiction of Chakradharpur railway division of the south eastern railway (SER). A senior officer said they are verifying the incident.
